According to NYC Department of Homeless Services In New York City:
In 2011 the street Homeless population was 2,648. The general population of New York City was 8,175,133. So the ratio of unsheltered homeless to general population is 1 in 3,087.

• Number of homeless families: 10,048
• Number of homeless children:

• Number of homeless single women: 2,520
